Sunmoon University, Korean Language Education Center was opened on March 20, 1989 with the goal of spreading the Korean language and Korean culture to the world.

Since its opening until February 2020, 25,513 students from 154 countries have studied Korean annually, and many of them have gone on to major universities in Korea including Sunmoon University. they are working as an international leader in a variety of fields such as employees in local companies, Korean language teachers and interpreters.

Among more than 200 universities in Korea, Sunmoon University, famous for its most internationalized campus,
receives more than 1,700 international students from more than 75 countries every year.

This institute was selected as a 'Korean language training program support university' by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea for a long time.
Especially it has been recognized as the best Korean language education institute since 2008,
as a Korean language education commissioned training institute that educates foreign scholarship students invited by the Korean government.

In 2019, it was selected as King Sejong Institute under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to operate Kunming King Sejong Institute in China.
In the future, we will open more King Sejong Institutes around the world to promote Korean language education and Korean culture.

In addition, we recommend active participation in the Korean language learning assistant program
to revitalize learning Korean language of foreign students, one of Sunmoon University's volunteer programs.

In addition, as part of our efforts to globalize the Korean language, we’re trying to spread Korean language
through establishment of overseas branches in Japan, China, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and Taiwan, and continuous dispatch of excellent Korean tutors.

We have provided customized lectures for each level of students and have become as the best Korean language institution in Korea.
